Pacific Lutheran University [PLU] Masters degree and certificate program in conflict prevention, management and resolution.

How long do the different programs take? A "fast track" and affordable way to obtain either a 32 credit hour Masters degree in as little as thirteen months or a Certificate in six -- with built in flexibility for those of us who work. Due to work or finances you need to stretch out the time -- then let's talk about possible options. What is the program's purpose? To develop practitioners in negotiation, collaborative planning & problem solving, and mediation -- practitioners who are competent, confident and credible in conflict prevention, management and resolution.
To advance the field through cross sector fertilizations and by developing, testing and evaluating "best practices".
To perpetuate the need and the value of "civility in conflict, equity in resolution".
To close the gap between theory and practice, and to narrow the gap between military technology and peace technology.
How is the program going to achieve its goals? By attracting program participants with diverse vocational interests -- cross cultural and inter group relations, labor management relations, environmental and natural resource management, community development, military, commerce, and all kinds of supervisory role functions in law enforcement, health care and education.
By teaching first class curricula that is theory based but skill focused -- taught by example, learned by doing!
By providing meaningful supervised field placements on the local, national and international levels. If the criteria fit then you may be able to have your field placement occur at your current work site.
